Our role in EDS diagnosis

Do you diagnose EDS?

This is a common question we receive.

If you still don’t have a diagnosis, you are welcome to receive a comprehensive evaluation. Dr Rivera can help rule out other connective tissue disorders, and especially any neuromuscular disorders that could account for your symptoms and need to be ruled out prior to receiving a hypermobile EDS (hEDS) diagnosis. In most cases, the diagnostic process will require referral to the genetic counselor or geneticist given that 1 out of 4 people who meet the hEDS diagnostic criteria may have additional or alternative diagnoses that could be seen through genetic testing. Currently, the initial visit is $275, subsequent visits have lower fees.
