Ergonomic specialized medical evaluations at the workplace for small business owners and self-employed

Are you getting neck or back pain at work after long hours in a chair? Or simply any other discomfort at work? Do you work on the computer all day and are worried about getting carpal tunnel syndrome or other nerve entrapments?

Dr. Itza Rivera, MD is specialized in pain, nerves, muscles, and body mechanics and can perform your ergonomic assessment to understand how your work activities could affect your health and wellbeing. Also, how symptoms can affect your ability to do your job efficiently, limiting your productivity, and increasing your risk of injuries.

If you are an office worker, your work activities may involve doing repetitive movements, or assuming poor posture or awkward positions. You may end up wondering how to prevent back pain at work or what are some tips for preventing neck pain at a computer.

If you have any of the symptoms below you are a good candidate for an ergonomics evaluation. The good news is that Dr Rivera is not just a doctor for ergonomic evaluations, but she can diagnose, order any necessary tests, prescribe non-opioid medication, offer personalized stretching and exercise programs, and perform manual therapies with orthopedic massage, trigger point or myofascial release, among other techniques.

How our ergonomic services work

Our ergonomic assessment is not a cookie cutter or impersonal process. You will get medical management (e.g. a medical diagnosis, laboratory or x-ray orders) from a doctor specialized in musculoskeletal and neuromuscular disorders. Dr Rivera can visit your office but if you prefer, she can do a virtual evaluation while you are at work.

step 1
Medical evaluation
The first step is to evaluate you as a patient (e.g. your neck, back, shoulder) and give you some preliminary recommendations.
step 2
worksite visit
Then, we visit your job to review your workspace (your chair, desk, monitor) and the tasks you perform and see how any of the recommendations have helped. For your privacy, we will keep any medical conversations out of that visit.
step 3
ergonomic report
Third, we send a report directly to you. You can submit your report to your employer at your convenience

You will get advice on how to ease back pain at work and what are some stretches for lower back pain or shoulder tension during work hours.

If you work at a larger company, the company may have their own internal processes or preferred ergonomic evaluators. In that case, you may just want to see Dr Rivera through a regular medical visit. You may want to inquire at your job before scheduling any appointments with us.

If you are self-employed, you deserve to be well too!

If you work from home in the Orlando area, we could visit your home office. Email us for more information.

It’s time to take care of your health, productivity, and comfort at work.
